Of all the mechs I have seen like 3 episodes of Big O it was confusing but good enough for me to finish watching each one rather than turning away vomiting violently and throwing a shoe at the TV like i do with most anime.

Big O is amazing, its Batman meets Gundam
But you NEED to finish the series in order to grasp it. I have the first season on DVD but not season 2, you are welcome to borrow it.
