Ha ha, I should have read this thread first. I'd rather just re-schedule it. Beside for some reason no one seems to like to arch in the winter but me (I don't have to run around like I would fighting sword and shield). so warmer weather would probably be better for us anyway.

so yeah. we should ACTUALLY do this during the fall. we'll have alot of new people so i dont know how we want to handle that, like they get their own bows and arrows. but for the rest of us who know how to not break stuff, we could start pretty early in the year. id love to see a few bows on the field at Welcome Back event

I'm up for it, I was going to continue teaching Sabrina anyway.
And I'd feel much better if new people brought their own bows, or only borrowed them if they had the money to pay for a new one.

About how much does a bow run?

if you get the cheapo set at Trader Horn in Indiana, its about $50 and comes with 2 arrow shafts that we can turn into dag legal arrows. a fiberglass recurve could cost a bit more but they're reliable. you can get bows like me and Nova have which run around $100- $130 but they break when kids mistreat them without even asking to TOUCH them X(. does anyone remember how much Akaedia paid for his longbow?

Those 50 dollar ones are pretty good as a starter bow, the arrows are real short though. The poundage on the bow is about 21 pounds.

Alright depending on how I feel about money nearer the end of summer I might invest in a cheap set. At $50 I wouldn't feel all that bad about donating it to the realm if I don't like arching or when I leave the area.
