So you're all thinking "Ohh Shiney" right now and wondering what the crap you can do with these pretty new boards... Well here's some of the inside scoop on the things you can do and how to get it done. I'll mod this forum to keep it concise and just answers to questions so that way we can use this as a help section.
Avatars: Those are the little squares you see under peoples names. You can link to them via a Url like a photobucket or whatnot. As a hint: photobucket seems to work the best on forums like this. Use the URL Direct link to the photobucket image, just remember to update the link here if you move the image to another album in your photobucket. Also your little image is only 100 x 100.
Signatures (Sigs): These are the things that will start to appear under peoples posts. Instead of dinky txt sigs we are letting you put up graphic sigs. Keep them within these constraints or we'll bounce them.
Width: 600 px Height: 130 px
Whatever you want on them is cool, keep it R rated, no soft core porn there folks, but feel free to express yourselves!
note: Larger sigs slow down the loading of the boards.
ok More to come as I dig around!

Tinypic is a good host too if you don't want to host a ton of images like some of us and just want to put up one or two pictures.
Also avatars don't have to be 100 by 100 but they will be resized to that if you use anything bigger. Please do not use excessive sizes or they will be removed.

Its like a user rating system, exalt someone is positive rating, smite is negative rating.

You can click the bookmark button below each thread (v down here v) to subscribe to individual threads, not sure about the entire forum yet. You can go here maethodoron.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=managebookmarks to set up what happens once you bookmark a thread (email notification is one option). But, that is kind of the point of having a forum vs a mailing list. I wish there were an option for auto subscribing to everything for those that wanted it, but I'm afraid not, at least you can bookmark threads you start if you want to be notified upon replies. The mass email is for important announcements.

It's a question about the boards! I click the link to go back to the general boards, but it still said new by the board help and general thread, and I'd go and look, but it was the same post.
Oh, now it stops.....

SUGGESTION! Is there any way to make the topics that are more frequented go to the top of the page under the sticky topics? I'm pretty sure they don't do that and that would keep the ones with more relevant conversations (hopefully) at the top.

Quick Reminder: I had a few people say that they always have so many threads with the "new" icon so they can't really tell what is new and what isn't. This happens when you are lazy and don't sign on the boards as much as Nova... Or if you have a life. Up in the Black bar just above the threads for a certain board in the right hand side there is a "mark as read" button. This marks all those posts in a specific board you are viewing (I.E. General Board) as read and the "new post" icon wont show up for you until an actual new post is made! Do this after you are done reading before you sign off and when you get on the next day you'll know what has really new posts and what you want to read!
Have fun posting!
