yeah, the hard part will be sewing it tight enough and waterproofing it well. then i'll spraypaint ork symbols on it interesting idea, i'd like to see it when it's finished. will your tent be able to support the extra weight from all of that leather?

yeah, it wont be very heavy cause its gonna be really thin, like garment grade or less if possible.

Why would you have scraps of it lying around then?

Less then garment grade? I dunno, I just don't see why you'd have enough leather scraps to cover a tent lying around until well after you've completed a suit of armor... or four. And that would all be armor grade unless you're making it out of layers of thin leather.

the leather for the tent is nowhere near armor grade. and i'm really looking for leather quality that i couldnt even glue together to make armor. and whatever leather i get from people that IS good enough for armor...

Period Pavilions- You definitely need an industrial sewing machine to build a period pavilion. You also need to make sure you get heavy enough canvas to stand up to weather and wind. If you are safety conscious, you'll want fire retardant material and then waterproof the heck out of it. Even without treating the fabric, it still costs a lot. Another possibility is utilizing one of the many companies that already specialize in pavilions like www.pantherprimitives.com/ Other possibilities include contacting local firms that specialize in canvas awnings for businesses and homes. They have the right equipment and suppliers. Rose

Thanks! I know where a bunch of other people have gotten their canvas, I'm hoping to borrow or a rent a sewing machine (I'll ask the people who I know have them before shelling out money to rent one).
Hmm, Perhaps I'll have to bring this back up after I make the one with Magnus and Glaum. No one seems terribly interested....
