why do all parties have to have drinking? cant yall be happy with soda, water, juice, coffee, cool-ade, gator-ade and all the NON-alcoholic beverages??? NO. |

Interestingly enough, I think Maethodoron as a realm needs to spend more time thinking about how to get its members to events and recruiting for the new year rather than where or who can come to parties. If members want to get together and party fine, however, Maeth parties have always been "dry" considering no Maeth funding has ever gone to alcohol, and it has been up to the individual members to choose to share what they bring or not.
That being said, members are free to get together to have parties with whomever they choose, however, Maethodoron as a realm will no longer "sponsor" anything party related that does not involve some sort of event/cook-out most likely.
Sorry folks, with us all moving away and getting more into our careers we have to worry more about the realm and not the social aspects surrounding it.

It seems kinda silly for Maeth to sponsor parties anyway, I didn't really think Maeth was sponsoring any of the gatherings we had (other than maybe the welcome back), I thought people had just been putting money together for drinks and food.
I do like the idea of Maeth having some sorts of regular functions. Perhaps a monthly or bi-monthly mini event, advertised, but not like we're pushing for huge numbers. Obviously we could 'take off' the few months around the winter event. Here's some incentive to get attendee's to pay, there's an attendance fee, but a small one, and it's not really a fee, so much as buying a raffle ticket, Either have some nice item, possibly donated, as the prize or have the winnings be 50% of what we've made off of the battle, something like that. Don't start with we (individually) can't afford it. I'm thinking $3 MAX it's not like were shelling out cash to go to every practice, a small fee every other month IF you go is not going to break your wallet. I wouldn't suggest something I myself wasn't willing to do. This could benefit the realm if we do it right. We could do food as well, it doesn't have to be a feast, just good food, a potluck perhaps, say... if you bring a dish that hypothetical $3 is lowered to $2 or something. If we want to have a feast perhaps a unit could pick that up and raise the price accordingly, giving a bit of income to the unit as well. This also gives units incentive to do something for the realm. This sounds reasonable enough, don't you guys think? Although I am rather short sighted when I it comes to this kinda stuff.

sounds fairly good to me. i think we should do like Taurendor and make it free if its the first time to a realm battle. running monthly battles wouldnt be too difficult and we have a few friends out of realm who would likely come out. it would also be nice to make an effort to get out to Angaron and Ithaca on occasion since they're closer
