so far, no one i know has been able to think of a way to bend bsp. i'm getting a short length at badon and i'm gonna test the hell out of it until i can find a way to bend it and have it maintain its shape. then i move on to learning to permanently bend fiberglass. just lettin' you guys know

You can bend fiberglass by heating it... think of the lab in chemestry where you took the glass tube and bent and shaped it... it's really dangerous if you pull it apart and create glass type fibers in the are... Well same kind of theory sort of applies here... Don't go killin' yourself.

The problem with bending fiber glass is there are two different substances you need to bend. If poles follow the same principle as panels bending the fibers isn't the problem. The problem is the resin. The question is if the resin will soften with heat or if it would require some form of solvent. If it can be done with heat can you reliably get that temperature with out sorching or igniting the pole.

is that what the bsp is, fiberglass? i thought it was some other stronger material. but yeah, heat was my first idea, just a matter of finding out what temp will make it pliable but not melt. i want it to stay solid and non flexing.

Well, it isn't too strong. Someone snapped my pole right in half. It's not often someone can honestly say that.

I thought it was fiberglass, because metal cores aren't allowed.

i know it isnt metal but it kind of sounds like it when you flick it or hit it with something solid. i just thought it was a different material than fiberglass
