Stepping down

So, Tiradora and I are officially stepping down as Bookkeeper and Vice-Administrator, respectively. We haven't been spending as much time at Dag events or practices, and instead of having new people come in and seeing two officers listed that they never see, we probably should not hold the positions anymore. Now, we're not mad at anybody or anything, so I don't this to turn into a big poo-storm. We just don't think it's right for us to keep those titles when we're less active than some of the new people.

Now, I know I got some of you drooling at this point..."Oh, boy, I could take over as the vice-administrator or bookkeeper, and be all important and tell people what to do!" Well, nice try, but no. I can honestly say I never did ANYTHING as a vice-admin that I wouldn't have done as a non-officer, and I'm not sure Tiradora ever had to keep a book on anything. It's basically an honorary title that's practically meaningless. But if we have to have it (which I'm not sure that we do), then we should appoint someone (or elect someone) that is actively involved that is also a veteran of a year or more.

I think, like you said, the positions are vestigial and unnecessary.

Yeah. Agreed on un neccessary unless Maethodoron wanted to reconstruct our system.

Will we ever see you again?

I'm sure we will see Araduin and Tiradora again (like a bad acid trip, haha j/k). But seriously, a huge thanks to them for all the time they put into getting this realm going! It's always something we knew would happen some day, and unfortunately that is now.
I say thanks for heading out before the new season fully starts so we can get things moving along with the new year. Looking back at all the crazy times we had putting this realm together (remember the symbol selection night.... shudder). Or our first several events where everyone thought they'd never remember our realm's name.

Good news, you've helped build this realm for over three years now to a realm that many people in Dagorhir respect and know. I'm sure they aren't leaving us forever, but they just need a transition, time to move from obligation to hobby once more. I know Araduin has always had the obligation for our realm since the very beginning of the days of the Duct tape fellowship, and Tiradora picked up shortly after when we all started Maeth (out of necessity because we couldn't wait anylonger)... Just think folks without those two helping out we could all still be hitting each other with the most unsafe weapons and never attending national events.

Through the years you've lent your time, money, vehicles and even home to the cause of making Maethodoron a better place. Thank you both for all of that, you couldn't have helped this realm out more, and you did it because you shared a dream of making Maeth better. Thank you both for that, and know that none of us ever want to see you leave.

Thank you all again, and as you step down from the admin positions (which you've lent so much to), I want to say, like we do in rituals, "Go if you must, stay if you will, hail and farewell, but hail and welcome to your new lives beginning in Maethodoron."

Thanks to both of you for everything through these years, I'd have never been able to do it alone, and I don't know where we would be without you.

We'll be around here and there, but probably not as much as we used to. No big deal, since we haven't been all that active in the past year, so I doubt many of you will even notice a difference.

i appreciate the kind words, mercaine. it's good to know we will be missed. as araduin said, though, we've barely been around lately anyways. i've been absent more than him what with work obligations. hopefully us stepping back a bit won't worry you too much, cyrus. you'll just have to come up with more scenarios to distract everyone from our absense

Thanks, Araduin and Tiradora, for being being Mommy Maethodoron and Daddy Dagorhir! Without your help I wouldn't have been able to go to any of the Badon Hills or Gates of Fires, and I know you contributed amazingly to all the Winter Events. I hope you can enjoy Dag again as a hobby.
