how did I miss this thread entirely? a few things: 1) calm down, the people have spoken, so the people will be heard. it may take some time, but thats how it happens when everyone has tons of shit goin on. 2) internet access. I really dont understand how some people cant have access to the message boards. For god's sake, my parents at the ripe old age of 79 check email( not regularly, mind you, and most times I end up just checking it for them and printing it out with really big font so they can read it). God, even my oldest brother broke down and put up a webpage, and he was on the run from the Govt after the nam for going awol, and thought that the govt could track him using spy planes and that funky metal strip in US currency. for someone to say they dont have access to the net just seems so....unbelievable 3) the people who are "running" the realm are doing so of their own free will, and have only good intentions. they are not out to get you, no matter what the voices in your head tell you(trust me on this here. the voices tell me the truth). they dont get paid, and get no benefit from managing the shit storms that crop up every now and then. 4) if you think you can do a better job, step up and say something.makes no sense at all to complain and bitch and whine, but then to not offer any ideas. if you are doing this, you are part of the problems Take it from a guy who both held a position of power in an online community, and then lost it due to his own stupidity and bad judgement, dont rock the boat unless you are ready to grab an oar....

I have fun fighting when you have three veterans and fifteen new people on the field. Not to instigate anything at all, but if it came down to that, I would probably have more fun fighting with those 15 new people than 5-10 veteran fighters who can't get along with each other and bicker and fight about really stupid shit. This game/sport has always been about having fun to me, not about kicking ass on the field at national events, lol. So can't we all just get along?

I've said my peace on other issues on the "Whoa there" thread incase anyone wants to refer to it. but, as for some others here goes: I have no problem with Nova or Lucius being Admins, but I would have liked to have known about it before yesterday. secondly, locking the aforementioned thread seemed like an attempt to silence dissent, and that really pissed me off. so, that combined with the sudden addition of two new Admins that (at least at the time) were exploring the use of disciplinary powers over an incident that some were arguing wasn't even worth disciplinary action seemed like Maeth was heading in the direction of a dictatorship instead of the group that I have fought with for over three years now. and i wasn't about to let that happen unopposed. so, i'm glad things are being worked out and that Vors (at least for now anyway) is not subject to arbitrary disciplinary measures for an incident that is hotly debated as even having been a violation at all.

I locked the protest Vors thread, if thats what you are talking about, because it was changing topics towards admins themselves not about the topic at the time. I apologize I didn't want to make you feel like that at all! I was just trying to keep things on topic is all! I got a lot of complaints about topics being veered off track. So that was me as the website administrator not anyone with a real position lol!

i think one of our biggest problems is that we're forgetting that this all is for a game, a hobby. this point covers alot of the other points being made. we're making mountains out of molehills and we all just need to calm down before making decisions. elections are gonna be tough because not everyone's life revolves around the game. instead of setting up some court system or something, we should just deal with everything on a case by case basis. seriously, how often do we have fighting at our practices or events we go to? lets deal with things as they come. i dont see any problem with appointing admins cause if we think they're doing something wrong, we can tell them. dont forget that these people are our friends before they are admins so they will listen to our input. gossip has been tearing us apart over a gorram GAME!!! something we all love to do, lets not ruin friendships and our hobby over things that really dont matter most of our lives

But after three years of getting run over by other units at national events, and not being taken seriously by other realms, it stops being fun. You have always seemed content to sticking to Maeth-only events, and I certainly don't blame you for that. But I have always wanted to be a bit more global (for lack of a better term), which is why I traveled to outside events, so I wasn't limited to only fighting the "Maethodoron style" A cat is only interested in the dangling string if you let her catch it every once in a while. If I play a game and win only three out of ten times, I can still have fun. But if I lose every single time...it's time to find a new game with better odds.

All the complaining/frustration/anger that is being demonstrated on these boards is why ya'll need to have a meeting in person. Each of you implies tone of voice on the other person's words. That leads to misinterpretation.
As for internet access, some of us live in the dark ages with minimal access. There are areas around here that still don't have DSL access.
