This is not meant to start any kind of flame war or be misconstrued as inflamitory in any way, it is merely an observation from someone who is outside the whole "Maeth scene" as it were.
I look at all the older threads, from back a year or more, and check out the pics posted on members' FB/myspace, etc, and one thing that really stands out to me, is the members of Maeth are a closenit family. You guys celebrate birthdays together, party together, fight together and hang out with one another.
Then, I start reading thru some of the stuff recently, and what I see, is that youve gone from being that family to becoming a standard online community.
What I mean by that, is that youve developed into "cliks" and standard personalities.
Youve got the guy who posts to every thread, regardless of if hes got anything to add to the conversation, but rather to pad his "post count".
Youve got the guys who somehow always manage to get some reference to their penis in a thread.
Youve got the guy who bitches about everything and the way things are done, but offers no other ideas to fix those problems.
Youve got the people who are trying to get some organization going, only to be stomped on/flamed at every opportunity.
Its funny in a way, but mainly, its sad. You guys had such a spirit of comradery not that long ago. Now, it seems as if it is "every man for himself". Not a good way to go for a fighting unit. You guys have to watch each others' backs on the battlefield, try extending that to off the field as well.
I know that every community suffers growing pains, but what is happening here is beyond that.
Honestly, think about when was the last time you were actually excited to attend a practice/event with nary a thought about all the side-drama?
ANyway, Ive said my piece and lost my train of thought.
So, as many have siad at the close of a topic, and something I fully expect to happen......FLAME AWAY!
