Hi its Andy. Just wondering if there's anyone here whos really good at making red? I decided that I want a "small and fast" red weapon. I have no experiance at making Dag weapons and was hoping some one could help me with making my first weap. Thanks in advanced!

I'd help but I don't do small and fast. Actually I am fairly certain I can't do small and fast.

While I haven't built a red, I'm fairly certain that the rest of the people in my unit just make it a big blue.

Does the blade have to be the 48 inch requirement or does the handle count towards the requirement?

4.3.6. A swung weapon (sword, axe, mace, glaive, halberd, etc.) 48 inches or longer is considered a red weapon.
theres the rule. I read it as the whole weapon has to be 48 to count, blade or hitting part size doesnt matter.
If Im wrong please correct me

the total weapon is 48 inches or longer. i wish we still had good contact with Bram cause he makes a really nice, fast, light red. we could try to replicate it.

Just make sure that you pad the appropriate amount of foam, I'm leaving now so I don't have time to look that up in the rules.

2/3 of the weapon must be safely padded. I've heard good things about electric fence post as a core for min reds. They should be available for purchase at tractor supply.

Excellent thank you all for this help. Is there any special foam I should use? ANd if so where can I get said foam? I know I will be needing dap and tape of various kinds.
My next question is how much do you think this will all cost? Just wan to have a idea.
Lastly, I know the bus goes to walmart and the mall but other then that I dont know shit about indiana outside of the campus so information on places (such as nearest tractor supply) would be great if you know.

You can take the green or the teal to fire mountain (stop after the mall). Walk toward the Lowe's. Tractor supply should be across the street past Lowe's. As far as cost a roll of the blue foam cost between $5.50 and $6. You will need atleast one. If you're willing to wait til friday the 30th I would be willing to tag along when you go.

The green also goes to Fire mountain and town fair plaza (I take it to work) It supposedly arrives at the transit center on the hour, than arrives at town fair plaza 21 minutes later.
I would say for now to stick with blue foam, there are other foams that can be used, but they are expensive and it's better to use them when you have more foamsmithing experience, just in case.

I said he could take the green or the teal. The blue may go out that way too come to think of it. And actually I am going to Lowe's and Jo-ann fabric friday afternoon/evening/when I get my lazy self moving.
