Since I can't make it to practice today, I'm leaving my comments on the bylaws here. The rough draft that Nova posted looks pretty good. My biggest concern is the code of ethics. I think we need to create one and stick to it. I think that officers especially should be held very strictly to that code, and punished if necessary.
Some things that I think should be prohibited: Actual fighting (whether friendly or not) Excessive temper tantrums Excessive arguing Excessive rhino hiding (to be determined by herald) Excessive head shots
Plus we need to prepare for every contingency; just cause we think something won't ever happen doesn't mean we can't prepare for it.
Hopefully this gets discussed today and my comments aren't needed.

I think the only things we didn't really talk about were the head shots and rhino hiding, everything else fell under a topic in the maeth. code of ethics.
Our head shots thing with three (that were your fault) and you are out for a bit should be put into the house rules, which we should have another meeting perhaps to discuss those. I personally think that when a person has to sit out because of throwing head shots they should have to practice the four basic strike for so long or so many hits, but that will have to be discussed.

Remember, law to live by when making Dag rules, you can't make anyone DO anything, you can only make them NOT do something.
I.E. you can't make them go and practice something, but you can make them not practice and suggest that they practice basic shots.
A realm can't make anyone do anything, we aren't a unit.

We can however say "your rejoining practices is contingent on you preforming yyy action." Also even units can't make anyone do anything. Voluntary sport and all.

I think the excessive rhinoing should at least be grounds for having someone sit out for a while. if you're going to cheat and make it obvious that you're doing so, we dont want to play with you.
The head shots shouldnt be too much problem as in we shouldnt have to punish it often. as i've noticed, most head shots come from either someone ducking in the way, 1 or both parties not paying attention to their own movements, or someone just being lazy and going for the shoulder shot (i have been guilty of this and try not to use the shot as much).
One issue that i really dont think we want to think about is people who consistently get hit in the head. if someone hits the same person in the head several times, while no one else is getting hit in the head, do we still feel the need to punish the person attacking? i tend to get hit in the head alot because of the shape of my shield (often hit BY the shield), so I wouldnt want someone punished because I can't guard well against head shots. I think we should reserve punishment for those who hit several people in the head, not just one person over and over. Also, if it becomes apparent that you are Intentionally hitting people in the head (except with weapons that are legal for head), a more severe action MUST be taken.
