Ok everyone I finally finished this tutorial and just to let you know, the description for some steps are the same but with added pictures. Like a before and after for that particlar part of it. Props to Dev of Taurendor and Nova for the help with suggestions and directions. I dont have a picture for Step 2 cause i was on a roll and forgot to take one. And there is no picture for Step 8 cause that is covering the shield and I cant sew. Materials Used: Home Depot 11/32”x4’x8’ Underlayment Plywood Lowes 4 - 5/16-24 Metal Locking Nuts 4 - Bolts 8 – Washers 1 Can of 3M Super 77 Spray Adhesive Wal-Mart 2 Rolls of Ozark Trail Camping Pad 2 Tie Down Straps 1 Roll of gray Duct Tape *I got everything from the stores listed in Indiana, PA. Except for the plywood from Home Depot. That is the closest place to get that type of Underlayment in the thickness I wanted. The Home Depot I went to for this is in Johnstown, PA, down the road from the Galleria Mall. Here is the link to the tutorial with the pictures. s679.photobucket.com/albums/vv158/Izad_2009/Shield%20Tutorial/I hope that helped, like I said. Im not good at sewing so I don’t really have the experience to help to far with that. Now you should have a brand new shield accommodated to fit your style of fighting. Congratulations and good luck with it, If you have any questions about any of the steps feel free to email me at izadsunrifter@yahoo.com or post your question here. I will respond to it as soon as I can and give you as much advise as I can. Thanks for using my new tutorial

To sew a shield cover lay your shield out on the fabric and cut an extra six inches out from the shield, fold the outside edge over about an inch an a half and sew around the edge leaving a hole open for the drawstring or elastic to go through, an voila a shield cover.

if you have materials left over, izad, could you make a simple punch shield and make a tutorial for it? i just think it will help aspiring weaponsmiths to have turorials for as many things as we can show them

I do plan on making tutorials for whatever i make. I'll have to look up punch shields though. Im not sure about how to secure the handle. I think that would be the hardest part. As i make things i will make a tutorial for new members and veterans alike. For now, if you want a good modular arrow head design and tutorial, Ill post the links. I have to credit Brutus of Rome for this. It is after all his youtube tutorial. I know you might not be able to get a hold of all of the materials that he uses in the tutorial but i am going to post it anyway. You can always subsitute different materials from what he has. If you want to buy the kits and materials that he has, and believe me, ive looked around a lot of websites and his has the best prices. it is www.bestdagstuff.comAnd here are the youtube tutorials.
