I believe There are a few people wanting to attend this event, I'm not gonna name names, but I'll ask them to post on here if they have space available for some traveling companions.

I'll see if I can get $20 for you before the event Vors. Yes, Araduin, You, me, and Magnus are currently the only one's pre-registered, although a bunch of people are going >.< It's annoying!
Honestly, and this isn't just me shamelessly advertising, I think this $20 will be much more well spent than that $20 that gates cost. And there's no hill.
EDIT: Well... there is a hill, but no one has to climb it.

^ I agree with that, the extra 5$ this year was fucking annoying. But, 20$ + traveling to Ohio, just puts me off -_-

Understandable. After all, it IS Ohio.

I understand that people find the $20 annoying, but the cost of everything has been climbing steadily. At the first Gates of Fire, Erekose told us that the Gestiguiste actually lost money (not even money from the group, individuals fronted money and did not recoup it).
If we want to continue having these events, we have to expect the costs to go up. We lost money the first Winter Event (yes, our own money), and just barely recouped our expenses for the second one. Granted, this year, we made a ton of money, but so many people came, the rental hall price was $100 no matter how many people showed up, and Akuragano kept the cost of the food down.
Besides, a few years ago Tiradora checked camping prices for a three-day weekend, and it came out to around $20, so we get camping AND an event for just the cost of camping. And at Gates this year, we were even served a meal (if you chose to wait in line to eat it, which the Fellowship folk did not).

I never said it was anyone's fault, but is fucking annoying. They said the campground increased their price. Maybe I'll just stop going to events until I get a job hah.

Wow, they lost money? That really sucks! I don't know what they've got planned for this event in future years, we'll have to see. Hopefully we at least break even.

its not so much that anyone is trying to turn a profit, but its nice to have a little extra so people dont have to pump our own money into every event

Tiradora should be going, too. She has to switch days with a coworker, but she plans on going.
