I managed to switch shifts with someone so I could have off this upcoming sunday. I was wondering if there was practice, if so where, if people are going to show up(45 minute drives for nothing make me sadface). I don't have any weapons also so I was wondering if someone could bring some extra if I don't make one by then.

I plan on coming, but I planned on coming last weekend, and I ended up having too much to do at the house. Ask this question closer to the weekend, just to make sure we'll actually be there. I think I posted the address in the other thread.
I'll try to bring the community weapons, although there really isn't very many that are any good. Maybe I'll make more this weekend.

im thinking we should just have a weapon fixing party before Welcome Back event. get those of us who build alot of weapons together to fix up our loners and get them in at least reasonably passing and safe condition. itll have cost of course but we might be able to find something to cover the costs.

Unless something comes up I will be there this Sunday. I'll have atleast a blue/green dagger to spare, perhaps a sword too if I finish my glaive and it's allowed to be swung on the field.

yeah, getting weapons right takes a while. took me over a year to get something workable and almost 2 years to start making really good weapons

I can achieve a safe sword. It doesn't look that bad either. I just don't know if I trust that glaive not to hurt someone if I forget myself and really crank it. And since I don't know I might as well put more padding on it to be sure.

it takes a while to get used to calibrating shots. the more you come out to practice, the easier itll be to get used to

Yeah, first weapons are never good unless a really experienced person helps you build it, ^_^ Hopefully your glaive passes, Have you found anyone to test it on?

Yes, but that test was what caused me to doubt. The trouble is that it's harder to build a soft weapon on a core that doesn't flex. So yeah more padding then time for a second opinion.

bring it to Sunday's practice. there are a few of us who build reds who might be able to help get the balance right. if my Red fails for hitting too hard at Academy then i'm rebuilding mine

also more padding isnt always the answer to getting a wepon to hit lighter. the more padding on it the thicker it is and wont have the give of the padding that you need. so more or too much padding can actually make it hit harder. so be careful doing that.

Actually I am convinced that the problem is that my open cell is too soft and compresses before it signicicantly decreases the force.

Actually I am convinced that the problem is that my open cell is too soft and compresses before it signicicantly decreases the force. Another thing, to my knowledge, i dont know that anyone has ever successfully made a glaive or club that had both open cell and the camping pad. not in Maethodoron anyway. I have seen some of our members try, but for some reason they dont want to mix well together. I would suggest maybe looking over your design and see if there is something you can do to take one of the two types of padding out. Just a suggestion.
