got anymore plans for this yet? i dont think it needs to bee too extravegent. we could pretty easily have a small party after at Whitmyre if we wanted (no booze of course) but the vets can chip in cash for snacks and maybe some real food like pizza. for the fighting, i think we should keep the scenarios simple since we're gonna be teaching new fighters and there are bound to be people out of practice. im thinking just do our starting melee and some zombie to warm up, some Monarch,a few Holy Shield melees (they tend to go fairly fast), and a bridge battle. We can also have one or two vets on the side just teaching for new people who dont want to jump into the melee. opinions, ideas, someone to marry cyrus?

I'll stay on the side since I can't fight just yet. I don't mind teaching new kids.

Well, the formula for the Welcome Back event has been used for about three years now. We just basically have a practice with a lot of excitement, headbands to determine teams and some food afterward. The very small details will get ironed out later when I have time to sit down and think about it. Having some people teaching the new ones off to the side is an ok idea but doesn't capture the excitement of the Welcome Back Event as it is supposed to be. The idea is that we throw the new people into the fray the first day, it makes what we are doing way more exciting and really weeds out those who aren't ever going to come back.
If we can set up a small grill in the oak grove.... If we are careful not to light anything aflame, or leave any hot charcoal, we should be able to have a small cook out during practice. I'm thinking very small like just hot dogs and hamburgers. If we can find a place (NOT ON CAMPUS) to go after the practice then I suggest that, remember the return rate for welcome back event is about 20-30 people at practice just around 20 show up for the cook out if that... Usually we see numbers like 15 at the most.
------------------------ On the campus note: Maethodoron is not a campus organization. Meaning we really can't be having too many activities being held on campus. I don't want us to have any parties in Whit. I'm just going to say that now. If people get together in whit or at a campus location (not the oak grove, or agreed upon by Maethodoron and the Campus) then it is those people getting together who happen to be involved with Dag. My big reason for this is simple, we can't mix with the university without having university influence. Also, we are using their grounds on a "goodwill" sense. If we make them mad for more than one thing we are in danger of losing our awesome practice space. No dag parties on campus, especially in Whit.
there i said it!

Nova, farting in a blanket and making someone else smell it is no way to welcome anyone back.

I had one planned for Warsong but I never got around to it. I revised the rules so it was the first team to "dominate" the island scores a point and you play to so many points.

they're fun depending on how they're run. i think this domination rule will make them alot more challenging. normally once you have the hold you can defend fairly well. i think after the island is captured everyone should go back to res point and reset
