its not bad at all. looking at $75-140 depending on our needs. i think its best to have the shower house for indoor bathrooms and those of us who like to shower after fighting. the pavilion is also a good idea to give people a place to rest between battles and it appears to be right next to the shower houses. fight area, rest area, and bathroom right next to the bathroom...sounds pretty damn good for only $140 thus far. Definitely a possibility for us

Tibby and I went and looked at Camp Seph Mack today. It looks like it would work. And at this point looks like maybe our best bet. There is only 1 thing. There is a road that goes from the parking lot to the lodge. It has a gate across it so if they dont open it for us, we will have to carry everything to the lodge. And if they dont plow it, we will have to walk anyway. Its not that far of a walk, we will just have to walk through the snow. But by the end of February it wont be that deep. i have pictures. and i will try to get them up in a few minutes.

Alright. here is where we stand with Camp Seph Mack. I talked to a lady at Penns Woods Council today. She sets up the reservations and stuff for Seph Mack. But anyway, she said that she believes that there is a tenative date held for the lodge that day. Something about a Klondike Derby. She is going to call me back tomorrow to let me know for sure. But if there is, i think this is still the best place so far so maybe we can talk about changing the date for the Winter Event. Seph Mack is probably the closest (besides Blue Spruce) and cheapest. Also the best to accomodate our needs. Other dates in February we could consider are February 13th or the 27th. Try to let me know what you think so i can talk to her tomorrow and check the other dates. Personally i say try for the 27th if we need to change it. that will give us a little more time.

chuck and i talked and it seems to mismatch. no need for concern about the date. so far February 20th is clear

to expand on what Tibby said, the lady told me that the date was taken for a Klondike Derby. But when Tibby looked at the scout calender and it says the Klondike Derby is January 20th. So i think the lady was looking at the wrong month. Im going to ask her about it when she calls me back tomorrow.

We don't have the money for $140 as of now, you'll have to either scale it back or fund-raise for 140 ticket. Few things to remember: 1. Cost has to justify the space vs. the amount of people that are coming. 2. Food Budget has to be solid and accounted for before the event is paid for.
Remember the winter event costs around 500 dollars on a slim budget and careful planning. A larger place ups the cost, especially if you are thinking we are going to have that many more people. So we'll also need more food.
I think it's a great deal for this place i've been there it's an awesome location, i didn't think they rented out to other groups. Just I wouldn't jump to the 140 cost right away.

There are other events we'd be competing with if we did it on the 13th.

Well for $140 we get a 200 person capacity building and a pavilion. Thats twice the capacity of Blue Spruce and you arent going to find a place that builds for a capacity for 125 or 150. They usually build them for 100, 200. Numbers like that. The cost of tags, strap for tags, food, stickers for inspection and materials for scenarios. Thats $360 left for that stuff. If need be Ill put up the $40 difference for Seph Mack myself. And buy the odds and ends stuff like the inspection stickers and the like.
And we cant really go by the space vs. people coming because you never really know how many people are actually going to come out. You're basically guessing. People say that they will be out who dont show and some people make a last minute decision to go. I would rather have space that we dont need rather than not enough and make people stand outside because they cant move inside. You basically have to judge by your numbers the previous year. If you had a lot of people come out, plan for the same number maybe a bit more. If not a lot of people came out, judge for the same and a bit more.
I think we can do this at Seph Mack we just have to stick to the budget. I dont see anything wrong with the $140 cost because for the $40 more than Blue Spruce we are getting twice as much of everything. As far as space.

how much was the ticket to get in last year. just raise it and jusity that we are renting a bigger place. it make sence, but the more people that come the more we will get back. just an option.

yeah. there is noting that says we cant charge more than last year. what was it $10? we could go to $12 or so. We have had to upgrade to a bigger place which common sense says more money. One year i went to Badon and it was $15 and the next it was $20.

why dont we make this a weekend event. more people would come i think. because then there is a reason to stay. and since it is a campground it does support people staying and then we would not have to find a place for people to crash. each unit thing would have to pay there own site fee. or make it a hybrid event. only rent out the places for the evening on Saturday and rent out the camp site(s) and shower house for a weekend for the people that travel far and need rest in between. they would pay for the site and bring there own food for the other meals. basically give the long haul people a reason to come. units would have to notify you before hand. just an option
