I know it's wayyyy early, but any word on the when and where of this year's winter event? I've got a few people down here that are tired of hearing my stories and want some action for themselves. Since I can't attend Badon this year, I figure the Winter Event will probably be their next chance to come with me to a battle.

It would be a good idea to keep ahead on the planning, I know a lot of groups plan their events a year in advance, I'll make sure we discuss this at least a little at our next meeting, whenever that is.

Morguiness, we're moving to Pittsburgh. We're on the other side of the city, but we will be closer.

We'll be near the Century III Mall. We almost moved to Monroeville, but they didn't have anything empty when we wanted to move.

We should really just have a meeting rather than discussing this on the boards.
We need a location then a date event insurance waivers event tokens/tags Meals (recipes and food for them) silent auction materials The realm needs to decide if an invasion is appropriate again or if we want any story line at all entertainment (I'm thinking bardic competition) it would be nice if members of maeth with houses would offer crash space volunteers for cooking, cleaning, heralding, troll, weapons check
We also need to decide if we should ask people to come and act as vendors.

best to just get some input from people before we take it to meeting. so if anyone has ideas, post em asap.
- We can probly use Blue Spruce again, but the pavilion we normally use is kind of small. Are there any other buildings like it in the park? Owen's Grove in Apollo, PA (about 20 miles away) has a field and indoor pavilion, but i have no idea if they would let us use the area for dag. -Date will likely just be sometime early to mid Feb as no one seemed to be swamped with work or school at that point. -Insurance: i'd really appreciate if a different admin than me could handle this because i have no idea how to work with insurance, and i dont want to mess it up. -It would be nice if we could get the nice metal tags but the likelihood of that is worse than me getting a girlfriend, unless we can find someone who will do it cheap. - Waivers are easy, plenty of places we can get it done cheap. -I definitely would like to see the invasion again. i've been talking to friends in other realms trying to get them to side with Maeth so it will be more balanced. -People will likely bring drums as always. We have a few people who play instruments so we could encourage them to play at the event. It would be nice to set up the throwing axes and such again, but buying the gear and making targets is kind of harsh on budget. - I think everyone in realm needs to be required to sign up for some job like troll, cooking etc for at least half hour to an hour. I personally can help with alot of stuff, especially before and after fighting.

-Blue Spruce has been outgrown, we need to find a new place, hopefully we don't have to fall back on blue spruce. -We'll have to pick a date after we pick a location, the reason we were trying to find a location already is because many times other groups may have rented the place we want and so we have to work around dates other groups have already reserved -I'll look into where we can get tags done. -Let's leave the invasion bit up to a vote within the realm. -The only thing we have to do for the bardic competition is have a prize, judges (or the whole crowd), and announce it beforehand. - Having a sign up sheet for duties is an excellent idea.

if youve outgrown Blue Sruce, the bigger facility is Pine Ridge Lodge in Blairsville. The Lodge is a short walk from the Park, and the Park has 2 fields that could easily field 50 fighters per side. website is: www.indianacountyparks.org/rentals/pinelodge.htmthats pics of the lodge. If you wanna check the park out, I can get pics, I live about 2 miles away... also, the VFW country club is nice...but pricey....

i think Kira had a good idea going with Mack Park, im not sure what came of it though. They have a nice big indoor place we can eat and keep warm and there is more than enough room for fighting. I think we should seriously consider the place and check it out. I just dont know if they open it for the winter.
Mack Park 752 S 6th St, Indiana, PA (724) 463-7622
I just tried to call but got no answer.

Camp Seph Mack in Yellow Creek state park. it is a Boyscout reservation, but they allow outsiders to use their facilities, just as long as we don't trash the place. The camp is located within Yellow Creek State Park, so the rules follow for state parks. NO ALCOHOL, darn. DON’T THROW cigarette butts on the ground. Throw cig butts away properly. The place is big but not that big. I think it is a nice upgrade from what blue spruce is. The battlefield is bigger and the dining hall is double the capacity. The battlefield is about 1.5 the size of the football field. And there is no uphill advantage for when we fight. It is very flat. The color coded map is attached. ALCOHOL PROHIBITED Prices: The dining hall would cost $75 for one evening or $100 for an entire weekend. -again the capacity of the dining hall is 200 people. If people are so inclined we can rent the shower house for $25 (not bad. individual stalls, HOT water, Indoor with actual toilets) The pavilion on the battlefield would be an extra $40. It would be convenient if the weather is bad because its right there. The pavilion near the parking lots (2 pavilions there) would also cost $40 each to rent for a day. The pavilion near the parking lot would make a convenient Troll in area. I am just pointing out what we could possibly use the pavilions for. If we don’t need them then we don’t need them. simple as that. I think everyone will be at the dining hall anyway.
