well, since this tread has turned from a "tips tread" to a "elf hate tread" to a "Vor's horror tactics tread". i was wondering what you all think of the new addition to my costume. elf ears, now should i put the holes for the string on the top or the bottom??? (one is done, the other isn't painted yet.)

Punch holes where the normal ear hole would be and string them on that. Makes them look more realistic.

Oh and as far as giving tips on your PD work that will make you cry.

I can see the tap lines showing through the PD. Next time make the coats thicker. (I also have this problem on my glaive)
It looks like you could use a little more practice on making the foam look smooth under the dip. (I have this problem too) I either make sure my pieces line up and curve right from the get go or I DAP some cloth over it to make it look more like a single piece.

Now that I have made you cry and then boasted about my baby I want to congratulate you on your joining the PD family. I'm really glad to see someone else start working with it. Remember keep innovating, keep looking over peoples' shoulders, keep perfecting our craft and one day your weapons will look like some of those pictured here. www.wynar.com

Remember PD will make a good weapon look better but it will make a great weapon look fan-freaking-tastic. Every time you build a weapon you should ask yourself "what can I do to make this look even better?" Honestly I got lucky with how good my glaive looks. Some things I did to cut corners actually ended up adding to the look of the finished piece.

thanks Vors, after i make a couple and get good at it i'll give you one. after that i might start selling them, i'm also thinking of eyes and noses too. if anyone has other ideas please tell me, im open for anything really.

and yea, it was my first PD job so im just happy it didn't burst into flames or something. and thanks for the tips. i'll remember that, even though i don't know if i'll be PDing any weapons for awhile, still thanks.

it would be nice if me, eoin, brogg, and rynnt could work together on something EPIC before eoin leaves us all for reasons i no longer remember. we are definitely the most creative weapon builders in the realm and thusly should leave behind something worthy of rememberance
