I guess I was the one taking initiative on this? But I don't really want to because its not my place plus I'm not going to be around in the next few weeks too much. So I'm leaving it up to the "current" admins to get the ball rolling again. Personally I think that Luci and Nova should stay admins for now and the elections should be put into place along with bylaws for a future time (to be determined) its just the easiest way instead of having a power shift during the middle of important planning for events (especially the Winter Event) and things of that nature.

Realistically, no one's planning for the winter event yet. It would be easier once we have an event coordinator anyway. And I think all of this was totally pointless if we don't change anything until spring.

Actually we have been looking ahead at where and when we can hold the winter event. We need to find a place with a larger hall so that everyone can fit in at one time without stepping on one another's toes. If anyone knows of such a place for a reasonable price spit it out! Please?
Some realms plan their events a year in advance, that won't quite be necessary here in maeth but we do need to start getting used to planning much further ahead of schedule.

We'll get a time frame of things once every thing gets back on track. Communication fell apart for a bit because of work/school and people's lives but we are still planning on going through. The day battle was the first and most important thing to take care of. Now that that is only two days away we can get moving on the election.
yes, the winter event needs planning. However, much of the event will fall into place from last year.
I don't want to keep posting on this board and i'm getting tired of saying the same things over and over again for people not to pay attention. The big problem is we need another place like nova said and like i've been saying since the last Winter event was over. I've been looking for another location and i've been making phone calls. Locations in this area are hard to find. After the day battle we'll have a Winter event planning meeting where we can give out jobs for people to do, one being finding a location for us. And then holding these people accountable.
Sorry things have been moving along slowly, but there were more important things to plan and make happen than this election right now. After the day battle we have an entire month before anything else happens (winter break) and then another month before the Winter Event. Plenty of time to plan, i know to people who haven't planned events it looks like a daunting task but I assure everyone it's not that hard and it just follows a normal procedure.
What is most important this year is cooperation! Since no one group is doing it, everyone will need to pitch in here and there.
Let me give you a quick run down of the issues in order:
1. Building/Location:
2. Date
3. Food
4. Food (If we are cooking)
5. Lodging for out of towners
6. Rides
7. Things to do (vendors/ entertainment/ games)
8. Battles
Food is on there twice because it's only really important if we have to cook. I have some phone calls to make in November to see if I can get food taken care of for us. HOWEVER I can't make those calls until i have a location because many locations do not allow outside food companies or people to cook. So location is number one right now. Date is flexible depending on location.
that's the winter event in a nutshell, it's not so hard really we just need people to step up this year and help out.
The elections will happen, hopefully before november is over. We are going to start with a position poll to see which positions are needed, yes I know many people have proposed some positions but we'll see what everyone has to say. It will be done via a poll on the boards. I'll probably set it up before the end of next week. After that we'll vote, vote.
We'll try to get some more regular meetings happening in the coming weeks for everyone.

I'll don't think they're closed in winter, but I'll double check. I'll have to check capacities on some of the facilities. Depending on which ones have kitchen space, we may have to bring the food pre-cooked and in steamers. It's not as convenient, but at least we'd be able to fit everyone.

Funny observation. The people most concerned with losing power to people they didn't choose want those same people to be responsible for choosing new people to have power.

You guys expect Nova and Lucius to set up an election to replace themselves?
There is too much wrong with that.
I still think that the current admins should set up an election system, a date for elections in the future, a system of bylaws, etc. But I think they should stay where they are until next year when we have elections that aren't clouded by all this foulness.
