True statement. As adults, we tend to overthink things alot. Some more than others. Like us psych majors. hahaha.

Also, do you guys use hoppers for your swords and clubs and whatnot? And if so how do you make them? I was thinking about trying to make a few out of clothes hangers amd fabric.

Has anyone ever tried to make a Klingon Bat'Leth?

1. What do you mean when you say "hopper"? im not familiar with that.
2. i think the Kilngon Bat'leth would again create a punching motion which is not allowed.

So it would. That damn punching motion rule ruins all sorts of sweet weapons. And by hopper I mean the leather loop that alot of medieval fighters used for their swords rather than the full scabbard. I suppose a leather one would work if you made it by hand, but i didn't know if you guys used a cheaper means.

I tie my weapons to my wrist, because I have a tendancy to hit hard enough to disarm myself... but I don't usually carry enough weapons that I need to have one on my side.

o ok. Well, we never had anyone in our realm make or use one that i know of. But Marus has made a scabard for one of his swords. I believe what he did was take a piece of cardboard the length of the blade and fold it into like a long box, and put an end on it and wrapped it in black duct tape or electrical tape or something. And also put a strap through it so he could attach it to his belt behind him.
But one drawback to it is that if the sword is somehow attached to you it counts as a hit to you if the scabard gets hit. Even if the sword isnt in it. Anything that you are carrying would be a hit to you if it got hit.
Does that make any sense?

makes perfect sense. I think i'll make cloth sacks with clothes hangers in the top to keep it open, and let the rest stay loose so it's not easier to hit. I'd only want them if i decided to use a red and can't hold the blues in my hands. Or whatever weapons work best for me.

There was a guy from another realm, i cant remember his name, i know he moved to the west coast though. But anyway, he had a scabard on his back for his red weapon. It was a very large weapon but Ill try to explain what it looked like.
First of all, he had a long piece of leather that went down his back. At the bottom he had another piece of leather that was shaped like the tip of his sword. And he had a piece of velcro or something to hold the handle in place near his shoulder so he could draw the sword. The velcro was loosely fastened for a quick draw. So basically it was an open scabard and most of the sword was exposed.
Hope that helped or at least gave you a few ideas on how to go about your own.

sounds sort of like Greymael's but idk exactly how his works. ive had alot of people ask me about the Klingon thing, and most "really cool" weapons are going to fail for one reason or another. typically fighters dont bother with scabards as you dont usually carry that many weapons into battle (unless you're Gremael). typically you'll just see someone carrying their sidearms in a special spot in their shield or on a lanyard thing like Izad and Nova do.

yeah Greymael does do that as well. but i know Greymael and this guy i was speaking of wasnt him. Sorry i cant remember his name. If i could maybe i could ask around and find out more info for you. I dont know what unit he might have been in or what realm he was in either. sorry bout that.
