i did. isn't it said in the rules that wooden cores have to be wrapped in tape? I think i saw that. but yeah, it's already wrapped, stuffed, and capped.

has anyone tried to fight with a dag-legal quarterstaff? the more i think about it, the more i want to try it and see what happens.

Yes, it doesn't work too well. Quarterstaffs aren't really fit for a sword and shield game.

If the core is in a PVC pipe it's not such a big deal, they have to be wrapped because if they break they splinter.
Fighting with al quarter staff that is as tall as most people imagine one to be tends to not work so well, but Spektor of Taurendor fights with a sword and short quarter staff quite well. I can't remember if the staff stays in his off hand or not though....

short staff makes a great shield that you can atack with. Mero fought with his madu thing like a shield alot and it worked great for him

Just to clear some things up for myself here. Is a double sided spear legal? And on the topic of spears. Is it legal to pad the shaft so far down so that I may spin the spear in the direction of the opponent. Not to attack. But rather to discourage their advancement? That being said. I've been trying to perfect my spartan sword design my problem I'm coming across is the very slight curvature in the blade. Any suggestions?
