So i wanna make a gaint center grip shield; yea like damn near everyone else in Dag seems to have. Does any know where i can get the lovely Uber-foam that people use for their cores... or any other core that would be good for a punch shield...

Okay, he meant a website, www.mcmaster.com/# and the foam you are looking for is polyethylene, then you'll have a shield like Big Nova.

I think one sheet Of the polyethylene make two shields like Big Nova's but I'm not sure.

Okay, so now Jarrad responded with a different site : www.foambymail.com Polyethelyne sheeting, at least 2.2 lbs. density, two inches thick. I'd go with what he says.

Yeah its really insane for just one shield. SIgh... OH well. And yes RLST club tonight... Hmm being a major i should go... Ugh. I'd say for a quick center grip go with something like a light plywood I saw a lot of those come through the checking and they were all good quality. And many of them were pretty light, but they'd have the bulk to push someone back.

i still have yet to see it.
On topic:
For punch shields you could always go with the boogie board style shields. they work nicely and they are slightly expandable witht he blue foam strategically placed around. Personally. Take the plastic barrel's that are thinner than the ones we traditionally use (like that blue one we had that one time) use some fiberglass core (from the swords) to keep it straight. Do this by drilling holes in the top and bottom of the core and then wrapping the fiberglass rod to the core through the holes with telephone cord (that shit doesn't break).
That will keep your core flat and straight, that way you could make it a center grip anyway you would like at that point. Just cover it like any other shield we make. then you have a centergrip with the rigidity of the plywood ones, but the weight of plastic!!!
