Or you can try here: www.pennbarrel.biz/They sell used plastic barrels. I just called them and they have a few used ones for sale for $20 a piece. You can typically get about 3-4 shields out of them; two rectangular shields from the sides (for heater shields like mine or Mercs), and two from the top and bottom (one of which you would make like a Hoplite, which is what Raven has). |

appearently, here at Robertshaw they use stuff in barrels,, im gonna see if i can get my hands on a few...

Can they be completely flattened though? I don't think I'd like to have mine curved at all.
But those are probably lighter than the wooden core shields.

About as flat as mine or Merc's; that's what we use. Having more shields would make us a lot more effective on the battlefield, as well as more spear users...

i recently aquired a blue barrel...its slightly deformed, but i should be able to get three cores out of it... i plan on making one into a center grip, and one of the other pieces will probably go to a new member i have.... so that leaves one piece up for grabs. depending on what she wants, the spare piece will either be a round (aka the bottom of the barrel) or a square piece. it'll probably be the bottom
