i do really like the idea of uniform shield covers. i'm glad that so far noone has been too upset about the idea. i like how groups look on the field when they have uniform stuff.

but seriously, i like the idea of the gold tree but have red and black for nightstalkers, green with elven and dwarven runes for Fellowship, and grungy looking ones for the orks. that way the shield unifies the units as well as the realm. i would willingly have all of my orks with something to keep us connected to maeth even when bearing down on you in war

It really isn't that bad of an idea. It was one of the ones that i had discussed on my own with i think maybe one other person. The idea that we have the basic tree and then do something else to bring the units into it. However, for right now i'm just trying to see what overall color scheme we are going to use.
The big thing is we are going to need people to do three things:
1. Pay for their shield covers ($3-5)
2. Enlist a few people to help in making
3. Have people drop their shields off somewhere at a specific date and time so the workers can make them all at once. (no one hangs out, just the people helping make the covers)

I'll help sew, I'll bring my sewing machine over too. I do like the idea of have the shields matching more with the units! I also made the template for the T so I can do the whole painting there.
Will we HAVE a template for the Maethodoron tree?

the idea of the shield covers is really to unify maethodoron allowing the units to dress however they want but still fight with maethodoron and be easily recgonized. I would say it's ok for outside units to show their heraldry if that's what they require. Other wise I was informed by Dominus A very long time ago that when thinking of heraldry for shields to keep it as simple as possible. The more you get involved the harder it becomes.
I think the simple tree with shield outline and swords crossed will be just enough to handle.
the point of the shield covers is to bring us together as a realm, not as seperate units. We want to be uniform entirely.
only if an outside unit requires a shield cover can the Maeth shield cover be changed. Otherwise a unit inside of maeth can create their own shield cover, but when fighting with us they use the Maethodoron shield cover.
